Unlocking the Secret (part 2)

My brow furled I read on for the next 5 hours without pause, upon my favorite hill in Fangorn Estases, sipping a fine vintage of ruby wine. I always found peace and clarity here at Fangorn. This estate was bestowed to me by Belvor IV himself for my duty to King and country many years ago and is also the home of Angrin, my seneschal and Market my son.

Looking down the hill I can see Market and Angrin talking of stars and constellations of the old ancestors of the Wegwuir, lying on their backs, Makaus pointing to the night shy. Gazing up to what he was pointing at, the Dragons Tear comet in the sky was just passing its zenith and would disappear in another couple of weeks, not to reappear for some twenty plus years.

Angrin always taught me that there was power in the seasons, stars, sun and moon, ready and waiting to be tapped. Not long ago we completed our summoning diagram under the estate and keyed it to the astrological signs of the ancient Bakluni and wolf nomads. After I was finished, Jalarzzi was so awed at the power contained in the diagram and its potential that she sent a summons for Lord Tenser to witness the one of a kind creation.

I was summoned away on assignment when he came to visit, but Jalarzzi had the keys and the password to bypass the Archlock on the doors leading to the room. The letter that I later read from Lord Tenser stated that he would be honored if Angrin and I would travel to his tower on the Nyr Dyv and create a similar diadem for his personal use and train him how to use it.

Flattery and trepidation was just two of my feelings at the request.

With midnight near at hand and my glass of wine almost empty, i figured it was time for Makaus to go to bed. As I was just about to finish the page I was reading in "The Mirror" and descend back down the hill, I tilted the book just slightly to the left when reaching for my wine and a faint glimmer of moon light leaked through the trees leaves that i was leaning up against.

An odd phenomenon took place upon the pages of the book. Beneath the writing of the pages a glowing text was illuminated and shone through the back text of the book. A simple diagram and about two pages of text, written in the common tongue, strange for the book is written in as many as five languages, none of which were common.

Knowing that this might be a breakthrough I commit the diagram and the text to memory before it fades. Upon entering my study, I reopen the manuscript and notice that the glowing script is gone. Moving the book into the moon light, I become disappointed that the text appears to be gone for good. So I write down exactly what I remember and after a few minutes I walk outside to get full view of the moon.

When I walk outside I notice that clouds have covered the moon and the Dragons tear comet. I open the book and nothing happens, no glowing spell or diagram. Disappointed I get ready to go back inside and anm about ready to close the book and I see the runes glow again. Looking to the night sky I am puzzled because the moon is still covered. Then I realize that the Dragons Tear is bright in the sky. Casting a divination I enquire of the relavance of the comet and the glowing runes, my assumption being correct. The comet is the key to unlocking this particular secret of the book, something named...Sadria
